Juneteenth (June 19th) marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, were finally informed of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a vital day to honor Black liberation, resilience, and culture.
As a design team, we believe that true creativity thrives only when all voices are heard and honest histories are acknowledged. We are taking time today to reflect on the immense, often-overlooked contributions of Black creators, to educate ourselves on the ongoing fight for equity, and to recommit to building a more inclusive industry.
